There is a hotel in Paris with bad wallpaper (the kind that would keep Henry James awake all night) and worse linoleum flooring, a wide bed with a thin mattress, the mattress so wrecked that no matter which side of the mattress you lie down on, by the morning you've rolled into the middle. The wine, of course, comes in a plastic carton from the Monoprix down the street, it's poured into the water glasses that were on the shelf above the sink in the corner of the room, and you drink it with the windows of the room open to the cacaphony and general urban distress of the street below.

To be honest, I don't much like Paris.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't go back, though, if I found someone worth going back to Paris with.

Someone to make the bad wallpaper bearable, if not laughable.

Someone to dance with, small steps, on the ugly linoleum.

Someone to pour red wine into a water glass for.

Someone whose laugh would make the street noise seem negligible.
Someone who notices the fine beauty of chantilly lace on the edge of my skirt.
Someone who will ride horses with me in the eairly morning mist.

Someone who wouldn't much mind if a sagging mattress suddenly brought us close together on a summer night, with the windows still open and the streets suddenly, for a moment, very quiet.

Fun is what you make it. Fun to me is two or more enjoying each others company. Rising a barn, and harvesting olives is fun because it involves people helping each other and a sense of community. Fun to me is also doing things together that expand both of us. Ski, kayak, living in the Amazon….. Fun can also be watching a movie together, or just hanging in a hammock and chatting the afternoon away.

Honesty, sincerity, high moral standards, humility are the attributes I look foremost. Personal introspection, self discipline; ………accepting the idea that no one is perfect, not even you, but your working on it. Personal introspection for me includes the idea that you are constantly re-evaluating your opinions. I am attracted to a man who shows kindness towards our fellow humans and all creatures, (with a bit more for me, just kidding). His attitude toward me must be nurturing. He accepts my shortcomings as part of my charming personality. If, so inclined as to show me to overcome these shortcomings, that it be nurturing and non judgmental.
