I'm a retired professional, healthy and fit. I am financially secure, work out regularly (am health-conscious but not obsessive about it), and don't smoke or drink. I have no problem with others who drink moderately -- but no drugs, please! I like to travel (that's not quite true, I LOVE to travel), and enjoy music, theatre, movies, photography and quiet "together" times. Okay, also cards, bowling and shopping!! I've been told by some women that I'm unusual, for a man, because I like to shop, have no problem talking about my feelings, and will stop and ask for directions if I'm not sure where I'm heading (this applies to life as well as driving). I try to be honest and open in my relationships with other people, and I look for the same in return. My sense of humor tends to be dry (favorite comedian was Jack Benny), and I don't enjoy "toilet humor, " especially in mixed company. I'm not often loud, but do have definite opinions and beliefs, and am usually not shy about expressing myself (I particularly enjoy discussing politics, current events and, depending on who I'm with, religion). I like debate, but not acrimony.

I'm looking for a trim (slender to average), fit, intelligent woman who likes to smile, loves to travel, and is more interested in tomorrow than yesterday. She enjoys giving and receiving affection from "her guy, " and doesn't play games with other people's feelings. She believes that trust, communication and a sense of humor are essential to any relationship, and her profile will reflect her honesty. It will also include photos that are accurate and show her appearance recently, not 10-15 years ago. That may sound shallow, but it's an early step in building trust. Some of my photos, to be honest, are a few years old, but they're still pretty accurate and they are included to hopefully interest a woman who likes to travel. Of course, there are newer ones -- they have a date on them. In other words, I wouldn't want to meet a woman who would be surprised at the way I look or act -- and vice-versa.

And then there is outlook, something that I believe becomes more and more important as we age (gracefully, right?). Some years ago there was a popular song called "Mary In The Morning" that had a wonderful line describing my ideal woman: "And then my Mary wakes to love another day..." What man wouldn't want a woman like that?

Traveling to some fascinating place with someone I like (or even better, love). I recently took up square dancing, and am enjoying it. I also like photography, playing cards, bowling and (believe it or not) shopping.

I'm looking for a woman who is smart, bright, optimistic and adventuresome. I'd also like her to be healthy and fit -- slender to average figure. If she likes (or at least can stand) classical music, that would be a plus.
